BLACKPINK’s anticipated comeback is finally confirmed

BLACKPINK’s anticipated comeback is finally confirmed to take place this summer after fans desperately campaigned for the group to drop new music.

It’s been a year since the Ddu-du Ddu-du singers released their hit EP Kill This Love but the wait for their return is over with their label, YG Entertainment, confirming new music will arrive in June.

They said in a statement: ‘BLACKPINK is scheduled to make a June comeback. Once the exact date has been finalised, we will officially share the news with fans first. Thank you.’  BLACKPINK, consisting of Jennie, Rose, Lisa and Jisso, are also said to have finished recording their debut album and will record the first music video this month before it is unveiled in June.

Fans have been frustrated that the popular K-pop band have not released their debut album yet despite launching in 2016, but it seems the BLACKPINK train is gathering steam again so hopefully they won’t have too much longer to wait.

The group completely owned 2019 and smashed records everywhere with their Kill This Love video becoming the fastest K-pop group video to surpass 550 million views. They also made history with their Ddu-du Ddu-du music video becoming the first K-pop music video to reach 800 million views, even beating the likes of BTS. BLACKPINK took to the stage at Coachella last year.
